Vintage New Acoustic is a project I was preparing to do in 2012. When guitarist and longtime friend Jef Lee Johnson passed away suddenly, it took a sideline for me to create Rainbow Shadow – A Tribute to Jef Lee Johnson - Volumes 1 & 2.

Now the need to do this project has returned. It’s a side of me…my acoustic bass side.

Like A Jazz Machine Festival 2018 gave me an opportunity to present Vintage New Acoustic to a live audience in Luxembourg. The immediate positive response was a great energy to take into the studio. I feel we captured most of that enthusiastic vibe during our 3 days of recording. Many thanks to the LAJM Festival Dudelange and the great crowd in attendance for that wonderful and inspirational evening.
